Does anyone remember the character of Dottie in the 80s?  I believe she was involved with Tad.  It would be great to bring her back to Pine Valley!  I always thought it would be good to bring back some of the former characters.  I also remember Carmen Thomas who played Hilary, another girlfriend of Tad's.  How about a old character reunion?           SKittell128@aol.com

I really liked Randi's scene with Frankie--it was so good.  I hope she does not give up on him.  These two are great together anyway!   I am glad Frankie and Brot are friends--maybe Brot will get thru to him.   It would be too bad if he gave up on Randi!

I am enjoying the murder mystery! The scenes were great and I am glad that Liza made an appearance again.  Her scene with Colby was good; I can understand Colby's shock at seeing her mother pregnant.  I am looking forward to the upcoming scenes!     SKittell128@aol.com

I really like Jamie Luner.  I hope there is some good stuff coming up for her.  I would like to see Tad and Liza get together.  It would be great to see them have a relationship after all these years!  It would be great to have Marion Colby back in town!  I am sure the writers could do a lot with her.
SKittell128@aol.com

The scenes with Zach and Kendall with Ian were so touching!  I can't even imagine going through something like that in real life.  The acting was great; it really made you feel the scene was really happening.  I look forward to the outcome.  SKittell128@aol.com
I hope Tad survives!  The scenes yesterday were great at the Chandler  Mansion.  I can't wait to see what will happen to Adam!  Micheal Knight and David Carany are great actors; I would hate to see them leave the show!  I feel bad for Kendall and Zach; their scenes at the hospital are so heart wrenching.  I hope Ian survives!  SKittell128@aol.com

I have posted this before, but it bears repeating. I recently read an interview that a fellow soap actor alumni did, and she said that soaps will probably be dead in the next 5 years. I happen to agree with her.  It appears that writers wait until the actors are in FRONT of the camera, and THEN write the storylines as they go.  Hello, has the cancellation of Guiding Light not taught these writers anything?  It doesn't appear that the writers are pulling their weight to ensure that their soap isn't next on the chopping block.  Seriously, if you don't want to write, move over, and give the job to more talented writers.  Or, if the soap as a whole is fed up, throw in the towel, but go out with a bang!  Give the viewers what THEY want.  We don't enjoy having couples marry for 2 minutes, then divorce.  We don't enjoy having our favorite couples endure heartaches month after month, or year after year.  We don't enjoy seeing the same s/l month after month, or dragged out for months on end, only to be disappointed when it finally does end.  We don’t enjoy seeing our favorite characters let go, because the writers “run out of material” for them.  We don't enjoy loose ends, or having new characters thrown in that don't make sense to us.  Sure, we enjoy having the pot stirred once in awhile, but don't stir so hard that you waste what's in the pot and make a huge mess in the process.  I think the writers are aware of this dying breed theory, and like some employees who know their final days are approaching, they stop putting much effort into their final performances on the job.  If you're bored with your jobs, guess what, it shows in your writing onscreen. This is just one viewer's opinion.

You know, I was just thinking...even if our favorite daytime supercouples do end up together, I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry. For we all know that in daytime, as soon as the reunions and marriages take place, it's only a matter of weeks or months before they're in divorce court. It's like the writers don't even give us a chance to rejoice or celebrate. Then, the proverbial ping-pong game begins...the back and forth, back and forth, until one half of the supercouple dies, or leaves town. Sometimes, I wonder if it's REALLY better to have loved and lost, or to just never have loved at all...and, is it REALLY worth it to us, as fans, to invest in these supercouples; I mean, where's the REAL payoff?

Signed,
One Bittersweet Fan

I was hoping that someday the characters Jenny and Greg would be brought back and it would be great to have Angie, Jesse, Tad, Jenny and Greg together again!  I loved those 80s storylines!  Kim Delaney and Laurence Lau are great!  What ever happened to set for Foxys--does anyone know?
SKittell128@aol.com

It would be great to see some former characters back on the show, such as Bobby Warner, Nina and Cliff and Donna.  Maybe some good storylines could be created!  I really like the set for Ryan's house--it's cool.

April 2009

All I can say is "David Hayward must go!"  He's making me really dislike AMC and I've watched it for the better part of 30+ years.

Let me say that I love the actor Vincent Irizarry who plays David, but he's almost too good at the role -- I absolutely detest his character!!  How David has time to be the hospital Chief of Staff is beyond me because he's up in the business of every single character on the show.  And it is getting so incredibly TIRESOME!

On top of that, many aspects of the David storyline are so totally unrealistic as to be laughable.  David showing up at the Chandlers when Jesse executes a search warrant?  David being allowed to question witnesses and suspects at the police station in Little Adam's "disappearance?"  David the Chief of Staff being able to barge into any patient room he wants under the guise of "This is my hospital...?"  Jesse letting Krystal meet with David before he takes the pills David concocted for her giving David the opportunity to switch them for something legal?  I'm a lawyer and those things would NEVER HAPPEN.  I wish the writers would respect us more and keep the storylines more realistic.

I keep thinking that they must be ramping up everyone's hatred for David because they're going to kill him off and they are setting up all of the rest of the cast as suspects.  I sure hope that's the case because if not, I will be a "former" AMC watcher very soon.

Thanks for listening!

I really like the scences between Jesse and Tad--now that they are grown men it's great to see their friendship has not changed since back in the day!  I am so glad that Jesse is Chief of Police.  He serves the postion well!  I can't wait until this David thing unfolds!

I really loved Krystal for the way she always protected Babe no matter what. But after Babe died, I thought she'd be more motherly towards JR. Not the case if she's trying to get custody of Little A!!!  What a slap in the face to Babe!  The Chandlers are millionaires and Little A will always be well cared for. If Jesse is really on the Chandler's side, why did he drill into JR and Erica when they said they didn't know the whereabouts of Adam and Little A?  He could have let it go.  David needs to be taught a good lesson for trying to steal someone's baby!

I am thrilled that Randi and Frankie are getting married! I love these two together--they’re a great couple and seem to have it together!  And I love the Confusion bar--it's a great set!

I watched the AMC podcast on abc.com, when Bobbie Eakes and Chrishell were shopping at New York & Company--that store looks cool! It's fun to see actors running off to shop.

I saw the spoiler on the Pine Valley Bulletin website regarding Brian Gaskell, who once played Bobby Warner.  I would like to see this character return to Pine Valley!  It's been a long time!  I would like to see characters Nina and Cliff come back too!  That would be great!

Hi my name is Barb Rothenberg and I live in Cincinnati,Ohio.  I have watched ALL MY CHILDREN since the beginning.  I was the same age as Tara and Erica when the show first started.  I, like many others, loved "Tad and Dixie" but she's gone!  Get over it!  Michael Knight is such a wonderful actor and I love his humor on the show!  I liked him a lot with Liza!  They were fun together. David Canary is also a great actor and I enjoy him as Adam and/or Stuart.  Jesse and Angie are a golden 5 star couple!  I love the mix of seasoned actors with the younger, hipper ones such as Ryan, Zach and Kendall and Bianca and Reese.  And of course the cherry on top is Susan Lucci and Ray MacDonald. It just doesn't get any better than this cast.  I will miss Eilleen Hurlie (Myrtle).  I would like to see these actors front and center with current headline stories.  Keep up the good work!

Now that Krystal and Tad are splitting up, I wish AMC would bring Dixie back.  I have watched the show since the late 1970's and the best storyline by far has been that of Tad and Dixie.  The whole poison pancakes/ghost storyline was stupid.  The best chemistry on daytime TV has been Tad and Dixie.  Bring Dixie back and put her with Tad.

December 2008

Dear Mrs. Carruthers:

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment in the recent storyline development for the character Randi as being previously engaged in porn.  It is unfortunate that one of the very few female minority characters was introduced as a hooker to begin with as it continues to promote negative stereotypes of African American and Hispanic women.  Now it appears that Randi will be given a history of involvement in porn.  I cannot say how disheartened and disappointed I am in ABC and AMCs development of that story.

ABC and AMC have done a good job of recruiting talented minority actors to the show which I saw as a return to continuing the rich history of addressing social issues through engaging and thought provoking stories.  Instead we get a story of stereotyped diverse woman with a sordid sexual history.  Already we have seen and heard Randi referred to and addressed in demeaning and vulgar terms.  The impact of this to young viewers must be considered.  As a woman of color this is quite offensive and very disturbing.  I implore you to rethink the development of this story and elevate this character past the gutter history to have her do something meaningful and purposeful with her life.  Perhaps she can become a counselor at the Brooke English house for abused women or a patient advocate at Pine Valley Hospital for abused and neglected children.  This was a wonderful story for Dixie Martin prior and introduced several engaging stories as a result.

If there is anyway to “clean or retell” Randi’s history that would be greatly appreciated and seen as a positive step in responsible programming.

In closing, I must say I complement the love story for Frankie and Randi, specifically the writing that showcases the slow building of commitment and love for these two. I sense AMC has a winner in them as a long term couple to invest in.  Although Cornelius Smith Jr and Denise Vasi are relatively new, both have done a fabulous job establishing Frankie and Randi respectively and I look forward to watching them.

Sincerely,

An AMC Fan

Good evening Ms. Carruthers and Mr. Pratt:

I’ve recently read “spoilers” concerning the characters of Randi Morgan and Franklin Hubbard.  Let me just say first of all, I love and adore this couple and I love their love story.  I love the way Frankie accepted Randi for who she was and the slow build that their relationship has experienced so far.  I can easily see them becoming a Super Couple.  I love the way that he is with her – gentle, accepting, always willing to listen and hanging on every word.  I’m excited that they will finally be making love (not so excited about Angie walking in on it) and I expect, if in line with what we’ve seen of their love story that it will be gentle, yet passionate.  Sweet, yet sexy!  I can hardly wait.  I was disappointed to find out that in addition to Randi’s prostitution that she has a past in pornography as well.  I’m not sure I understand why a past in prostitution was not enough.  Seems Randi’s character will be taken through the ringer so to speak and also seems that Frankie will have a problem with it.  I would have much preferred her prostitution come to the surface.  I don’t think the pornography was necessary.  I’m assuming that perhaps one of her former clients posted pictures on the internet without her knowledge??  As far as Frankie being bothered by it, he knew what he signed up for (not the porn so to speak but still…)  I suppose that the “visual” of it all will suddenly make it more real to him.  I don’t mind seeing some angst but what I don’t want to see is this cause them to break up or having Frankie turn his back on her.  I think it would be completely out of character!  I was excited to know that Erica will be pulling her as the FOF as I would much rather have Randi in a career that shows all the qualities that Frankie saw in her from the beginning – that she’s strong, smart, intelligent, etc. and not just some superficial Fusion bimbo.  I wouldn’t mind if this got her fired from Fusion altogether.

What disturbed me is what I read on the ABC AMC msg board.  Another man will come into Randi’s life - ??  I find this to be completely insulting to Frandi’s relationship at this stage of the game and to Frankie.  He put his career on the line for her, his relationship to his mother, he was willing to forsake all common sense where Randi was concerned.  He was prepared to kill a man and risk going to prison to protect her.  He even contemplated stealing drugs from the hospital, not to mention try to raise funds to buy her out of her contract.  He gave her a home and an life and respectfully waited for her to be “ready” and not try to pressure her into making love.  He did most of these things without barely knowing anything about her.  This is man who loves her unconditionally.  She shouldn’t even want to bat an eye at another man!!  I don’t care how easy the man is on her eyes – Frankie isn’t chopped liver.  He GORGEOUS and he’s a gentleman.  He honors her and worships her.  She is his world.  A triangle for this couple would just be completely insulting!  Can they at least consummate their relationship and be together for a solid year if triangle is necessary (and I don’t see why it is necessary) or friendly competition.  For goodness sakes, Frankie is the 1st man she’s ever loved…it’s insulting to have her look away so easily just because another man is good looking.  I sincerely hope this is not the direction it’s taking.  I want to see their relationship solid.  Can we have at least one happy couple on the show?  At least for a while.  Angst is fine because perfect is boring but please can we not go the route of “affairs.”

On another note, I’m elated to see Angie finally accept her as family.  I hope she is there for her as she goes through this rough patch (I’d like to see Jesse be there for her as well in addition to Frankie & Amanda).  I loved seeing Angie stick it to David where her family is concerned.  DM & VI have amazing chemistry (NOT romantically) but their scenes are on fire.  Love the professional rivalry.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Sincerely,

Debbie McKiver

Chuck Pratt  is supposed to have made the comment that Tad (Michael E. Knight) is going to get a romance heading his way because that is what he does so well.  Please understand that for a romance to really be magical and wonderful for Tad, it must be with Dixie (Cady) alive and well.  She has Tad's heart in a way that no other character will ever have, no matter how much TPTB want to move on and forget about Dixie.  Please give Tad and Dixie a real chance at happiness.  Give Cady a long-term contract.  All the fans know she would take it.  Tad and Dixie have to be the Ruth and Joe for the next generation.  Please give the fans what we have been asking for for years.  A reunion could be easily explained by things like a coma, amnesia, or being held against her will.  Palmer, David, or Josh could be to blame for her being kept from her family.  Maybe Josh was punishing Tad for Gregg Madden, maybe Palmer was protecting comatose Dixie, or maybe David has her hidden away trying to fix her heart with new drugs. Fans don't care how it is done.  We want our only true long-term super couple.  All the poles say they were in the top 5 all time couples.  Utilize their chemistry.  Give us an investment in the Martin family's future which is tied in to the Chandlers  (through JR) and the Cortlands (through Dixie).  Give the fans a Valentines Day that will always be remembered.  Please put the fans ahead of your own wishes, and do what's best for the longevity of the show.  Please ask Chuck Pratt to do the right thing for this show that so many of us have grown up loving.

I have been a fan of AMC since the summer of 1991 when I would watch it with my favorite aunt while spending my summer days at her house.  I still can’t get enough of this show and I will always be sure to pay my cable bill so I have DVR and can crawl up on the couch in my favorite blanket, watching my favorite characters live their lives.  Of course, we’ve all seen our favorite characters come and go, some getting replaced with new actors/actresses.  But not too long after they’re replaced, I get used to the new actors and forget my disappointment when they changed.  I dive right back into the story line with anticipation, hope, frustration…it’s like I’m living in Pine Valley myself!

Zack & Kendall: My god, these two have been through hell and back too many times to count, I think it’s time for a break!  While I realize that Alicia ( Kendall ) took some time off to marry her fiancée, it’s still disheartening to see her gone.  I am crossing my fingers that Kendall will wake up on Christmas Day and live a long, happy life with Zack and their boys.  I have no doubt that she will change her mind about having another child and soon after she wakes up, will find that she is pregnant.  Between Kendall’s first coma, the suspenseful birth of Spike, the long-awaited health of Ian, Zack falling into the bomb shelter with Greenlee and missing for so long, and now Kendall being in a coma again…things HAVE to get better for that family.  They deserve to be happy, in love and carefree.  Kendall and Zack are the ultimate parents – they enjoy time spent with the boys, and all together as a family..  I think AMC needs to keep this story line going strong – we need to see some strong families in this day and age.

Ryan and Greenlee (a.k.a. “Rylee”): This story has been done one too many times and needs to just end.  We know it will in the Spring of 2009 since Rebecca (Greenlee) is leaving the show (again!), but how will it happen?  Will they leave the character open so she can come back again?  Will Ryan and Greenlee start a love affair, only to have it tragically end like last time?  Again, this story line is old…*YAWN*.  Ryan and Annie were good together (when she was sane, of course!).  They should bring that back.  Sadly, I find myself picking up my book when Ryan and Greenlee are, once again, talking about their forbidden love and trying desperately not to rip each other’s clothes off..  I never thought I’d want to divert my attention from the television when AMC was on, but this is one of those times that I do.

JR & Babe/Amanda: WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS AMC THINKING WHEN THEY KILLED OFF BABE?!  I was seriously in mourning when that funeral took place and they buried her in the ground.  Once in awhile, I keep trying to figure out how they could bring her back after she was so obviously dead.  I mean, when you bury someone 6 feet under, it’s pretty hard to bring them back to life.  I can understand Dixie ’s first situation when they didn’t find her body – that was reasonable that she came back to life because there was no body found.  BUT not for Babe.  Babe is forever dead…unless…AMC, PLEASE find a way to get Babe back – fully alive and kicking Amanda’s butt for jumping in so soon after she died.  JR and Little A don’t deserve to lose their wife/mother, and Krystal doesn’t deserve to lose her daughter.  This was a horrible loss and I was so disappointed in the show for doing this.  And just like Ryan and Greenlee, JR and Amanda have already had their “relationship”.  She’ll never be a mother to Little A.  She’s only in it for the money, although I’m seeing they are trying to portray her as really caring for JR and Little A.  Final word on this subject: BRING BABE BACK!!!

Dixie: I’ve read what others have said on the website and I fully agree that Dixie needs to magically come back.  Again, her recent death is hard to bring her back, considering she was buried as well..  However, it’s not impossible for AMC to bring people back from the dead.  Tad and Dixie had a love that was REAL.  While I enjoy Tad and Krystal being together, there’s nothing like the story of Tad and Dixie .  They never really had their chance at long-lasting love.  And now that Kate is in the picture, well, what a family that would make.  I keep watching the show in hopes that she’ll be back.

David Hayward: I’m so sick of him.  Why did they have to bring him back?!  For a minute there, I truly thought that he came back when he did because they were going to have him save Babe’s life.  Babe dies and seconds later, in walks David.  I mean, how else does that look?  I sat on the edge of my seat, thanking AMC for having David walk in at that exact moment – I was almost positive that he was there only to save her life.  What a huge disappointment.  David Hayward – the great cardiac surgeon can’t even save his own daughter?  What was that about?!  And we’ve always known he was a deviant SOB and I’m tired of him and his crap.  And now he’s chief of staff of PVH???  What was Joe Martin thinking???  This is another time that I either fast forward with my DVR or read my book.  I can’t stand listening to him and watching him.  If he didn’t come back to save Babe, then he shouldn’t have come back at all.

Thanks for keeping me entertained, AMC!!!

I never write these things.  Last time I made a comment on a show was when I was a kid and wrote to Lisa Welchel on the Mouseketeers.  So believe me, this is rare.  I just want to say how much I've enjoyed the representation of the GLBT community on your show.  I know you must have to deal with putting off some of your more conservative viewers, but I'm happy that you're reflecting life as art should.

My only beef is that the Maggie/Bianca storyline had to end.  That was a very anti-climactic resolve in my opinion with them going off to Paris together not really knowing how they ever finally hooked up, so to speak.  Even more frustrating to find out that after 7 years of longing and angst, they broke up in about a year.

I used to watch the show religiously when I was in high school 20 years ago and lost track of everyone and everything.  I just happened to be home one afternoon and tuned in for old times sake after California lost it's battle agains Proposition 8, the ban on gay marriage, to see Tamara Braun and Eden Riegel in the scene where Bianca proposes to Reese and they actually kissed on daytime TV !  Woah !

Where have I been since 2000 when I learned Bianca was introduced as Erica's gay daughter.  Obviously with my head in the sand.  Needless to say, thanks to You Tube and blogs, I've caught myself up on the last 7 years of drama.  I sad to see, though, that the hetero scenes are still way more sexy and passionate than the sophmoric pecks you have Bianca and Reese sharing.  Yeah, they're more touchy, feely than the Lena and Maggie scenes, but c'mon.  Don't you think Paris lesbians can share a little toungue once in a while.  What's up with that!  A little Maggie popping in as a successful surgeon looking to rekindle a romance with a long lost Bianca just to stir up the pot wouldn't hurt either.

Besides that, I enjoy the show.  Bring Erica back into play.  I always loved watching Susan Lucci.  She was awesome on Dancing with the Stars as was Cameron.  I wish I could join the AMC stars on the Rock the Soap cruise, but I'm in Florida caring for my ailing mother now and I'll be needing to get back to work when I get back to sunny California.

AMC is the only show I've been watching here ET at 1pm.  If I miss it, I break out the laptop and watch at 12 PST via my slingbox when it airs on the West Coast at noon, and if I miss anything then, due to doctors and nurse consults about my mom, I tune in a 5pm PST and watch on Soap net.

I guess you can say I'm fanatic about it now.

 Thanks much!

November 2008

I'm sure you all know that a Christmas Miracle is a much loved tradition of  All My Children.  The miracle often revolves around Tad.  Please use the miracle as a way of telling fans that Cady McClain will return soon as a real live Dixie for Tad and her children.  We will not give up on Cady, just as we won't give up on our desire for our Tad and Dixie supercouple together forever as the next generation of Joe and Ruth Martin.  Fans have been cheated terribly, but are very loyal, and will not give up on Tad and Dixie Martin raising Kate, and being there for JR, Jamie, and Little A.  Please consider what the fans want, not what TPTB think we should want.  Many of us grew up watching AMC, and feel we have a vested interest in the people of Pine Valley.  Please consider Pine Valley history, and the wishes of fans.  We all know Cady will come back, and she and Michael E. Knight magically light up the screen like no other AMC couple ever has or probably ever will.

Hi Carol!  How are you?  Happy 10,000 episodes.  It is incredible to reach such a milestone.  Good for them.  I understand today is Vincent Irizarry's birthday.  brm1@westchestergov.com

Hello everyone.  I agree with a lot of people, that J.R is finished on the show without Babe. They belonged together and I'm very disappointed that Babe died so see can go on to One Life To Live. Se needs to come back I don't care how, figure it out.  Thank you for listening.
Sincerely, Anna

They should have Babe's spirit haunt David and straighten him out!  hjfeagins@verizon.net

Hi, I just saw the ending to the show and there was no surprise at all.  I knew it was going to be Annie from the moment I saw the picture of her setting on the chair in Ryan's apartment.  They are really stupid if they don't figure this out.
